OFFsite SEO is a way to make your site more visible to the search engines. If you do this correctly then you will also be able to attract more of your target audience, buyers and sellers that want what you are specifically selling. Real Estate is one of the best local markets to be in and Search Engines make it really easy for any one in the world to find you if you understand how to hone in on those specific prospects ready to make a move forward. So this is the big picture behind what real estate search engine optimization (SEO) is truly all about. It is to aide potential clients in finding your unique sales opportunity on line.

Offsite SEO consists mostly of link building and plays a large role in garnering those top first page spots in the search engine results pages (SERPs for short). So what do I mean by the term “link building,”? It is essentially a methodology whereby you are increasing the number of websites out on the Internet that link to your site. Think of it as a popularity contest and the one with the best quality of friends wins. Google, being the search engines with the lions share of the market at over 60% use link popularity as one major criteria for judging and ranking your website. The Search engines judge these links based upon their quality,page rank, and how relevant the topic area is to your site.

As with any marketing campaign you are going to run successfully, link building should be approached with the same level of seriousness. It is critical to how you are able to rank in the SERPs as your page advances to the front of the line. But if you properly positioned in the search engines through careful and diligent SEO practices you will see increased and targeted traffic to your site, that will translate into sales. So link building is a core and critical marketing campaign to consider doing regularly. Just as with any thing you need to get done, you need to put this on your schedule. Just as important as keeping your listings current, link building needs to be attended to weekly, even if just for an hour one day a week.

More importantly, don’t adopt “SEO tunnel vision” to the point you neglect your websites primary offering (whether that be products, services, content, or a combination of the three).
